I think we all believe we've been in love at least once by the time we've reached our 30's. Maybe it was the feeling we got when we spoke to him/her on the phone, or the anxiety we felt when we knew we were going to see them in a few hours, getting ready, making sure we smell our best. I know, sounds like high school puppy love. I never imagined having that feeling for someone ever and figured that over the course of time, it would fade somewhat. I did care for a few people in my lifetime but I got over it, not quickly but enough to not miss being with them now and have no regrets.
I wonder sometimes if I am in love now since it was so easy for me to say I love you to two other people. Funny thing I realize now that you can love many people but can you like them? Then there are people here who pose the question: Why do you have a Migente page if you're involved? Well, I've been a member since 2001 (with another screename)and Migente wasn't so much a dating site as it is now. I have made several friends, and I mean FRIENDS who care for me as much as I care for them.
I'm glad that now they've added the Dating Tab which to me does scream I'M SINGLE and LOOKING! There's nothing wrong with that if that's what you're here for! I don't have that on my page and if you take your time to view it, you will find many pictures of my boyfriend and me smiling and enjoying life. I hope that everyone who comes across my page does eventually meet someone who appreciates and values them as a person. It hasn't been easy as some people are not born ready to embrace love but I think patience and getting to know a person and allowing them to see who you really are has paid off. I'm sure we'll come across a few envious people who will try to intervene and ruin a good thing but I believe what we have is strong enough to overcome any evil that comes our way.
Did I mention I do love my boyfriend? I DO!!! It's all about how he makes me feel. He knows I'm a good person and he appreciates that and doesn't take advantage of my good nature. He helps me be a better person and the truth is, that's all I want to be - A better mother, daughter, sister and girlfriend.
Anyway, back to why I'm still here. My job is sedentary. I sit at a computer all day and it sometimes can get to a point where I don't have anything to do for about four hours. I know, sounds like a dream job doesn't it? Maybe to some but I find it boring at times so I get on Migente, chat with old friends and sometimes come across some interesting pages and voila! a new friend is created, but not so fast. I'm not here competing over how many friends I can make in a day. I just don't want to be Friend Number 3456 on anyone's list just because.
I am a firm believer that we are judged by the company we keep. I'm not saying that being my friend should be a privilege or an honor but the word FRIEND holds too much meaning for me to start calling everyone who I chat with a friend. Maybe acquaintances is a better choice. Heck, I may never meet half of the people on my list but for those who have chatted with me, we have shared many LOL's and some personal information and I thank you for that!
