 New Art I'm working on. Yes, I paint without a shirt on, saves on ruined clothes. When I get the inspiration! 7/24/08 
What I did this past weekend!! 7/13/08 
 Hmmm, they say by 6mos you should know more or less the foundation, and character of a person. I am many things, seen many places. I am too much to be listed in this little box.  My Abuela's side is from Spain/Canary Islands. Romani Gypsy or what is called in Spain as Gitanos. So I am mixed way back with Moorish(Arabic) blood and gypsy blood. My mother is always mistaken for Arabic. My Great great great grandfather sailed from there to Puerto Rico. He fell in love with a Taina. They didn't even speak the same language. He named her Rosa.(That my be the romanticied version, she was probably his slave) Hopefully you all know the history of the Taino people) The beginnings of my familia. My family came from Puerto Rico (Mom's side) in the early 1900's to work in the sugar cane plantations. They loved it so much here they decided to stay. My Grandparents are 1st generation born in the islands (Hawaii)..We now have 4 generations here in Hawaii. My mom met my father in highschool. Guess she was feeling the Asian Persuation LOL.. She actually told me, she liked my father because he wasnt a borracho, and wasn't "machismo".* Fellas take note* lol. She also said he could dance and had a nice car LMAO! Ah, the priorities of youth. My father is from Guam/Malaysia (Chamorro) Hafa Adai! Guam is said to have been a penal colony from Malaysia. I'm a thuggette by blood. NOT!!! LOL My father looks like Mr Miyagi from Karate Kid except dark and bald hehehee. I have the Chinita eyes from him. Growing up my mother would always say "You're lucky I mixed you nice, you came out with tetas, nalgitas and a cute nose" LMAO! Moms a trip. My mother and father divorced years later. She remarried and my step father was military. I have lived all across the US, Hawaii, and Guam so far. This was very conducive to my gypsy blood! I loved moving and living in new areas, new people and cultures. It has enriched my life in so many ways. Everyone should travel, your life will never be the same. ~M Mirror Mirror on the wall... lol..

 ****I recently received a note from a woman saying she was intrigued by what I do, that it's a great way to stay fit and express yourself. This was my response, which I wanted to share with you all that think this artform is just a glorified way of seduction, or less of an artform. Often times, things are what we make it.. ****My Response: Thank You! It definitely is a great way to do both of those things. The most joy I get out of it, as I teach now, is seeing women learn to love themselves for who they are and accept themselves. Afterall, it is often times only ourselves that expects perfection due to social pressure about our bodies. Seeing them accept themselves and love the way they feel in their own bodies is so very rewarding. It's raising the bar as women, saying we love who we are, now deal with it. "Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes, Art is knowing when to keep them" |
