personal message

Launched in 1999, the New York International Latino Film Festival (NYILFF) is now the premier Urban Latino film event in the country. The NYILFF's mission is to showcase the works of the hottest emerging Latino filmmaking talent in the U.S. and Latin America, offer expansive images of the Latino experience, and celebrate the diversity and spirit of the Latino community. Programming includes the flagship film festival in NYC, new music and art showcases, family and community events, scholarships for aspiring filmmakers, and a nationally recognized short film competition in partnership with HBO. The NYILFF is the only film event to have had the endorsement of Mayor Michael Bloomberg's NYC Latin Media and Entertainment Commission since its formation in 2003.

MiGente was a proud sponsor of the 2008 NY Int'l Latino Film Festival.

1 Lucky MG winner won a pair of V.I.P. passes to the screening and after-party of Daddy Yankee's film, "Talento de Barrio" on July 23rd, 2008.

3 additional winners won tickets to Premier screenings of "American Son", "Days of Wrath"and "The Ministers!"

20 runners up won a pair of general access vouchers for the film festival.

We hope you all enjoyed it!

Please note: Neither MiGente nor NYILFF will provide transportation to or from the film screenings or after-party, so please make sure you will be in the NYC area during July 22-27th. You must be 21+ to attend the after-party for Daddy Yankee's film. General access vouchers are only good for general film screenings. Winners of general vouchers must check availability of film 24hrs prior.

One of my life's goals was to attend the latin film festival, and what better way to go as VIP. I am pround Colombian & Latino & I support our people's to achieve bigger & better. Latinos have the looks (top 4 Ms. Universe), we have the culture, we have the language that we communicate with each other with such class & sexuallty all combined in one. I am a Latino that is making a difference in society, and this society is just getting to know us. We Latinos have always known what we are worth. I would be honored if I was blessed with anything type of tickets.
