personal messageI'm a never ending student. I'm always
trying to better myself. To become a better leader, a friend, a mother, and
person. I try to teach my children by example. I'm a
39 y/o 100% Puerto Rican, active duty soldier in our US Army and
a student on the road to complete a second degree in Medical
Technology to be a commissioned as an officer. I love to mingle,
enjoy new friends and places, and can talk anyone to death. LOL! I
always enjoy trying new things at least once and more if I liked
them. Food and I go hand in hand, I love to cook, true old style
Latina. Love my Tiano roots, Salsera to the end. I could eat,
sleep, and breathe the dance if I had more time to. I love to dance Salsa,
hopefully I will teach my kids to love it also, we are losing our tradition. Stay connected
mi gente. Culture is important. It identifies us as family and as a culture. I am a true experimenter, I
have no fear and will go get myself into the middle of the mix because
it's something I've never done before. I love riding and hope to be buying a
motorcycle this spring to ride all summer. My kids think I'm crazy.
LOL!! Could be but they're still young, they have alot to learn
about living life to the fullest. I have 3 beautiful and inspiring
children who live at home. Rugrats, I Love you guys. Meeting people here is a way of
staying in touch with the changes that go on everyday in our
lives.. I hope to make many great friends and keep in touch with
old ones. Feel free to send a note. Unless it is disrespectful,I will respond. Thanks for the
interest.
Ahh, the changes since I first posted this
information here. I am still a never ending student. Kids always.. and two new additions to my family, the grandkids.. yeah.. grandma is the now bringing the sexy back.. LOL
The one thing I can always say remains the same is the love for my
children and the never ending desire to help them succeed in
whatever goal they are reaching for.. they are and will always be
my driving force. Partner? No. Thought I had found the one.. but I
was mistaken. Again, time to move forward and expand horizons..
only the future will tell. As I meet the great ones, they are out
of reach. But, God Bless them for having touched my life. Hello to
the new people meeting me on my page and hello to the old friends
that are always keeping in touch. God bless and God speed to my
fellow warriors that are still in the sandbox.. and welcome home to
those who have accomplished their mission and return
home..
I often wonder how many truly understand the sacrifices of a warrior. While everyone is going out to clubs, restaurants and on outing with their family and friends, we are from those we love, in the mist of gunfire and explosions, sleeping every night with a riffle as our partner, ready to jump out of bed at the first scream. Some spend the holidays alone, often with nothing but a letter or a video to remind them of the smell, touch, and feeling of home. Their children are without mom or dad for 15 months at a time, sometimes longer. As I live my life outside of the sandbox in a Research Center here in DC, I never forget those who are still their paying the price, losing their limbs, sight, or even lives to represent our nation with honor and sacrifice. So when you see those in you uniform, don't look away or wonder why they are here, you can sleep safe at night knowing they are your guard 24 hours a day/ 365 days of the year they are on alert for you and your families. Take the time to say good job or thank you, because you are not having to leave your loved ones, they have done it for you. I say this, because I am one. I'm a soldier and a single mother who wears the uniform with pride for my children, family, and the people who walk past me every day. I have lost several in this war, and have had to watch families walk by me in tears as I stand at attention paying respect to them for their loss. It is one of the most heart crunching moments to see a family on their knees crying at a stone in a military cemetery. Please reflect on that when you see us walking around because we are and will always be your shield.
God Bless my fellow military still abroad all over the world and god bless their families that are home awaiting their return. Your in my prayers everyday. friends (8)favorite pages
