personal message

I've realized in life that things aren't always what they seem and that you may never get what you want but you sure as hell should try. I've learned that the word friend is taken for granted and the people you trust don't always fit the bill of "friend". I've learned that you have to be who you are in order to fufil your dreams of happiness. I've learned that not everyone will understand you but that those who do are to be cherished.

I've learned that when you put up walls, you just set yourself up for failure and that allowing your vulnerable side to show allows you to be human. I've learned that loving someones flaws is loving the real person that they are. I've learned that your family comes first, no matter what and that they know you more then you know yourself.. I've learned that money and status are just but blips on a screen and that true richness comes from the people around you.

I've learned that you can't tell your heart who to love because it always betrays you. I've learned that listening to your instincts is vital in the game of survival and that only fools don't take advice. I've learned to love myself in ways that others can't, and that opens doors for others to love you as much as you love yourself.

And I've learned that life shouldn't be taken for granted because it's too short, too unpredictable, and too fragile to be disregarded..And the biggest lesson I've learned is to strive for your own happiness because depending on someone else to grant that to you, is setting yourself up for a lifetime of disappointments, heartaches, and the living in mediocrity..

Emotions

Posted May 13th, 2008 at 10:17pm

You know there's something to be said about feeling emotions. There are a myriad of emotions out there that can fit almost any situation and sometimes I view it as a curse. But lately, I feel that feeling anything is a blessing. We put up walls and boundaries and live a "se la vie" existance because it feels safer to not feel at all then it does to feel something, and then be let down. I spent many years not feeling much about anything. Those years were preceded by years of feeling way too... (continue reading)

That Summer Feeling..

Posted May 13th, 2008 at 06:13pm

Oh it's getting hot outside. I can feel a change within myself and within others when the sun is in the sky longer and the winds are still. It's that happy feeling. That bright feeling. The feeling that you can do anything just because the sun stopped setting at 4:15pm.

I do'nt particularly like summer, per se, I can't stand the heat at all, but I love the spring. IT's a time when all of a sudden you see the ducks come back out and the flowers start to bloom. I love that. The... (continue reading)

Why?

I've been on an quest to discover more of myself these days and it can be very frustrating at times. In the struggle to understand myself, I've started questioning others, and I guess that can be viewed as judgmental. It IS judgemental but it's part of the process I have to go through in order to overall become a better person. I look at my past and my mistakes and I know i'd never repeat them but then I see others repeating their OWN mistakes or going against helpful advice and it drives me... (continue reading)
