9/11/11 I have not forgotten but have learned.. The head of a major company survived the tragedy of “9/11” in New York because his son started kindergarten. One woman was late because her alarm clock didn’t go off in time. One was late because of being stuck on the NJ Turnpike because of an auto accident. One of them missed his bus. One spilled food on her clothes and had to take time to change. One had a child that dawdled and didn’t get ready as soon as he should have. One couldn’t get a taxi. The one that struck me was the man who put on a new pair of shoes that morning, took the various means to get to work but before he got there, he developed a blister on his foot. He stopped at a drugstore to buy a Band-Aid. That is why he is alive today. Now when I am stuck in traffic… miss an elevator… turn back to answer a ringing telephone… all the little things that annoy me… I think to myself… this is exactly where I AM MEANT to be at this very moment. The next time your morning seems to be going wrong, the children are slow getting dressed, you can’t seem to find the car keys, you hit every traffic light… don’t get mad or frustrated; Someone is watching over you. Feel BLESSED with all those annoying little things – and may you remember and appreciate their possible purpose.

To all parents of kids returning to school in the next few days: Tell your kids that If you see someone who is struggling to make friends or being bullied because he/she doesn't have many friends or because they are shy or not as pretty or not dressed in the most "in" clothes ~ PLEASE STEP UP. Say hi or at least smile at them in the hallway. You never know what that person might be facing outside of school. Your kindness might just make a BIG difference in someone's life!!! WE love you so much!! I think back on the last 6 yrs and stand in awe over how much you have matured and grown. The 1st 3 yrs were the hardest by far. Always looking for signs, wondering if it would happen to you and never really enjoying those years. We were robbed having to always worry, but the worries really never do end, they just change in perspective. Moving out to the suburbs has been the BEST change we all needed. Here you have really florished. You went into preschool shy and quiet. Lacking self confidence to speak or be the leader. 3 years later, we hold endless conversations on things your learning and experiencing daily. You run to the front to be a leader and have the confidence to succeed in anything you desire. Your mind is always in motion and you truly are THAT amazing to both Daddy and I. I am honest and can hold on to my beliefs and values. I make mistakes and learn from them, but wish the mistakes of others were never made to begin with. Today, 6/29/10 we celebrate our Anniversary. This day we said "I do" to each other, in front of our families, and to the world. We became husband and wife. We gave to each other what no other could ever give, ourselves mind, body and soul. Every year together just validates what we always knew and felt from the moment we met, we are each others soulmates. For our son, for us, we will always be ONE.
