personal message

Life is what you make it. I have been blessed meeting some wonderful people who have changed my course and totally widen my outlook on my life style and the way I approach life. For all my fortune I have considered myself blessed. I never dream I would wake up to this reality and find myself hit by a tsunamic wave of reality and change my course in destiny.
I have been very touched personally by the event in Haiti, people relatives that you have enjoyed lived with and come to love. Now after 4 hurricanes a devastating quake was determined to wipe Haiti off the face of the earth. Lost of catastrophic magnitude. But the people of haiti will fight to survive, fight to rebuild and will build from ashes. My heart goes out to them and they are in my prayers. This tragedy may not affect you personally but if you can make a difference, please do so , donation, food drive and clothings. Fight to make a difference. Dominican Republic was the first country to send help and resources to the victim. Also Haiti got pledges and assistance from Venezuela, Cuba, Brazil, united States, Canada and Europe. Help make a difference Donald Giovany

How can you help in Haiti/ How You Can Help The People Of Haiti You may feel compelled to help the people in Haiti. Posted: 8:18 AM Jan 15, 2010 Reporter: Liz Hayes Email Address: lhayes@wsaw.com You may feel compelled to help the people in Haiti. The local chapter of the American Red Cross is accepting donations, which will immediately be sent to the impoverished Caribbean nation. The Marathon County Chapter of the American Red Cross is already receiving phone calls from people wanting to help. For the international response, a monetary gift is the best way to help those suffering in Haiti. So far, the organization has pledged one million dollars to assist in relief efforts. They have an operation currently on the ground in Haiti, assessing the devastation. A working warehouse is set up in Panama, filled with necessary supplies. The chapter executive of Marathon County says donations like food, water, and clothes may not be the best way to help right now. "Shipping would be very difficult and very costly so we're asking people to make money donations and then we will purchase things locally for food and shelter needs," says Wendy Savage the Red Cross Chapter Executive. To make sure your money goes directly to Haiti relief efforts, you must make that known at the time of donation. The Red Cross accepts cash, checks, and Visa and MasterCard. Or you can automatically donate ten dollars by texting 'Haiti' to 90999 on your cell phone. Maybe you can't afford to make a donation, Savage suggests mobilizing a fundraising effort as another way to help. Several organizations are dedicated to helping Haiti. The Salvation Army is mobilizing resources and has dedicated $50,000 to the relief effort. The Salvation Army is also accepting monetary donations. You can find out how by visit the link attached. Or call 1-800-SAL-ARMY or postal mail to: The Salvation Army World Service Office, International Disaster Relief Fund P.O. Box 630728 Baltimore, MD 21263-0728 You can also donate to the American Red Cross P.O. Box 37243 Washington D.C. 20013 Or you can call 1-800-REDCROSS or visit the link attached.

Earthquake Relief in Haiti

Posted

One of the few and fortunate to enjoy Hispaniola, an island divided between Haiti and Dominican Republic. For many years since its independence Haiti and Dominican Republic have enjoyed some dynamic relationship of love and hatred, some bad blood yet they look and watch over each other, they will fight like brothers and sisters but they will also come together to each other peril. Hence after an earthquake hit Haiti, Dominican Republic was the first to give Humanitarian and logistical... (continue reading)
