Okay, so maybe not the root... but damn close to it.

Think about it for a minute with me.

We see or hear something and then we expect that just because someone else is capable of something, we must be as well.

That isn't even the beginning.

We sometimes put that expectation off on others instead of ourselves.

Just because you expect something doesn't mean that you're going to get it.

as she opens up the door

There are cobwebs in the corner

and dust is on the walls

She calls his name out loud

and hears it echo down the halls

Her footprints follow behind

as she searches for her friend

She traces her fingers on the wall

until she reaches the very end

She's entered another ventricle

I admit...

...there are times when I have my moments of weakness...

We all have those. Some are just better at hiding it than others.

I go back and forth.

Sometimes I hide it like a champ.

Other times... not so well.

But I don't let many see it. Weakness. That's how I'm conditioned. Never show weakness. Never let people see your soft spot because they'll go for it. They always do.
