I am a teacher and I always present it as a celebration of resistance. Resistance of our culture being melted down and destroyed by assimilation and negative expectation. I don't know if that is too political for this site, but I am here in Arizona and the atmosphere is very nagative toward Mexicanos , Chicanos, and any Latino. It is important that will instill pride in our children to combate the political climate we find ourselves in .
