Rules and Regulations for MMI

1) Not all conversation is intellectual conversation no matter how much you believe it to be or attempt to force it to be.

2) Agree to disagree.

3) You show how ignorant you really are when you place yourself higher than anyone else on the intellectual step stool.

4) Not everyone is concerned about what you are concerned about; nor should they be.

5) If you have to force someone to agree with you, you may need to do more research.

6) Know your audience.

7) Know when to throw in the towel.

8) Know when no comment is neccessary.

9) Respect everyone no matter how much you don't.

10) Conversational monopolies will be disbanded. When monopolies become evident, there will be a cease to new forum thread creations on that topic until futher notice is given. This is left to the discretion of the group owner.

11) Don't duplicate topics. If needed, view previous topics to see if a topic exists covering the same issue.

12) Minimize the cursing. We do have underage people in the group. It may be blocked out but we know what it is.

13) If any member violates a MIM rule, there will be a two week probationary period. If a member violates any MIM rule with in the probationary period, a ban will be issued pursuant to the ban statute. After the probationary period ends, the member has a "clean slate." After three probationary periods due to MIM rule violations, the member will automatically be banned pursuant to the ban statute.

14) The first time a person is banned, the ban lasts for 2 weeks. If a person is banned again, it is for an indefinite amount of time to be determined by an additional vote that will commence no sooner than 30 days. If said person gets banned again, the ban will be a lifetime ban. If a person returns under another screen during the ban and it is found out, they will immediately be given a lifetime ban. There will be no public announcing of banned members.

15) All advertisements and solicitations will be deleted.

True intellectual conversation is clean, beautiful and concise. It has no mean words. It holds no anger.

Take this saying, "Guns Don't Kill People; People kill People," and analyze it. The purpose of the saying is to get people to control themselves.

So, in this group, please control yourself or you will miss out on getting to know the rest of us intellectuals.
