Palo, or Las Reglas de Congo are a group of closely related denominations or religions of largely Bantu origin developed by slaves from Central Africa. The word "palo" was applied to the religion due to the use of wooden sticks in the preparation of their altar, also call "la Nganga", "el caldero" or "la prenda. Adherents of Palo are known generally as "Paleros"or "Ngangeros".
The Nkisi of Palo are:

Lucero:
messenger of the gods and guardian of the crossroads.
Centella:
ruler of cemeteries, winds, and the marketplace.
Zarabanda:
Nkisi of iron, blood, war, and divine vengeance.
Siete Rayos:
who has dominion over lightning and fire. He is the personification of justice, passion, and inspiration.
Madre Agua:
ruler of the ocean, motherhood, and creativity.
Mama Chola:
ruler of rivers, love, and beauty.
Tiembla Tierra:
Creator of earth and mankind, ruler of the universe.
