personal messageOBLIGATORY DISCLAIMER
Read my profile before you message me!!! DO NOT contact me, if you, in any part of your page, refer to yourself as a "pimp," refer to women as %#&@$!es or "ho's, and/or generally talk about women in a degrading, debasing manner. Uninspired, lame hip-hop on your page, with such lyrical content, also counts.
I don't respond to empty, generic messages. For example: "What's good ma," "Real talk, girl, you gorgeous," "Where have you been all my life?" or "Hi." It doesn't work in the real world, and it doesn't work online.
Now, then...
Name's Cherdan. It's a combination of my parents' two first names, Cherie & Daniel. I have been plagued by incessant comments and questions on my name since the day I was born, and likely will continue to be until the day I leave this good earth, so, try to give me a break once in a while. It's also really not difficult to say, either. If you think too much about it, YER DOING IT WRONG GUYZ. Background: 38% Azorean Portuguese, 8% Hawaiian, Norwegian, Scottish, Irish, German, Native American (supposedly Cherokee). Born in raised in Hilo, on the island of Hawai'i, aka the Big Island, in the state of Hawaii, and have resided here my whole life. I am NOT Brasileira, and I'm not from Portugal, so stop asking!! My great-grandparents emigrated to O'ahu from the island of Sao Miguel in the Azores, in the late 1800s. I am ridiculously proud to be Acoreana, and I rep it 100%, all day, every day. Yes, I have left Hawaii and done some traveling. Please don't assume I am some sort of barefoot island hick who has no concept of the outside world. I actually prefer not to talk about Hawaii at all, as it's an extremely redundant and monotonous topic of conversation for me. Seriously, if I get one more message reading, "So, how's the weather in Hawaii??" (har har, you are SO clever!!), I am going to break a pineapple off in your a.z.z. Been tall all my life- presently stand at 5'11", with a size 12/13 (US women's) shoe. Tall lady worshippers/foot fetishists creep me out, though, majorly, so I'm not into that. I'm also curvy, and I'm here to let the world at large realize that tall women, generally, are not Olive Oyl/stick figure types. This flawed notion is why I don't wear jeans!! Yay skirts. Soy rockera- I LOVE music and have been consumed by punk rock since I was about 15 years old. I own over 700 albums- on CD, LP and casssette. I love to go to shows, get sloshed and rage it. I have a major thing for rockeros. I love a man that is adept with a bass, especially. Sexxxxy. I also have been singing from a very young age. For the last 4 semesters, I have been performing in a 400-level university chamber choir. I have also been trying to form some sort of a band/musical project for years. I don't read or write music, but I have written songs. I have had some great musical moments in my life, some of which include performing "Cloudbusting" by Kate Bush at a punk rock cabaret karaoke bar in San Francisco, and fronting a band, singing Pixies covers, at a New Year's Eve party. I have also DJ'd on my local college radio station, and corresponded via mail and email with some of my favorite musicians- Simon Raymonde of Cocteau Twins, Jeff of The Lassie Foundation and Frank Lenz of The Lassie Foundation & Starflyer 59. I have been kind of a lucky duck. I have been a strict vegetarian/occasional vegan since 2001 and I am very health conscious. I do drink, smoke and enjoy smoking pot, but I didn't engage in any of these things until the last 2 years. I was a very repressed kid/young adult! I come from a very strict Christian-based upbringing, and my life was very controlled and restricted until I was about 14 years old. No secular media, with the exception of Janet and Michael, Whitney, Prince, on occasion, because my mom was a self-described "former disco queen." So, I do have a soft spot for 80s R&B; I won't lie to you. I am eternally single and celibate and have had very little relationship and/or dating experience, certainly not by choice. Understandably, this is a very sore subject for me, so please spare me the sadness and frustration by not asking me if I am taken or married (you crazy?), and especially, asking me WHY that is. Being pretty doesn't mean anything comes easily in life, believe me. I am decidedly very liberal/politically progressive, and I am outspoken when it comes to the rights and equality of women, the disabled, GLBT and ethnic minorities. I would like to get into disability advocacy or some other kind of minority rights advocacy as a career. My father has a neurological disorder that has had him wheelchair bound since his early 20s, and so I grew up with a very different perception of people that are deemed "different" by society. I am very turned off by papis/thugs/machismo BS, so please don't attempt to "spit game" at me. I'm not looking for a "pa," I have a very good one, from birth, no daddy issues here. I find that %#&@$! creepy. I am attracted to intellectuals, eccentrics, free-thinkers, creative people, the tattooed, the modified, the slightly mutilated, the mutated (as in the rapid evolution of self), the highly individual. I feel highly misunderstood by most people, and am pretty certain I'm in that storied "2 percent" of intellectual-eccentric people in the population. It just never stops with me. La aventura.
