Guia Rivera
The Latin Alternative scene is actually a new frontier for the singer-songwriter. She came across this route after growing weary of auto-tune overload on commercial radio. With a style of music she has coined "eclectico," Guia Rivera has ventured into hiphop, dancehall, Latin jazz, r & b, and even Middle Eastern sounds. The performer was recently seen improvising Selena's "Tu Solo Tu" with a mariachi band at Burrito Feliz in Little Village after attending the Cafe Magazine party at Horseshoe Casino. The impact of both her English and Spanish songs has found favor with certain public radio personnel in Sweden. Also, on the high seas, the USS Rentz just played her Latin jazz ditty "Te Verde" in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. Extra News recently picked up on the breakthroughs of her career as a bilingual artist, crediting her as "Chicago's most popular female singer" with the release of her underground anthem "Graffiti." In 2007, radio personality Luis Jimenez got a hold of her reggaeton club banger "Camaleon" and introduced Guia Rivera with her first breath of airplay on his nationally syndicated radio show. Rivera finds freedom in the release of her current single "Escondido" as she expresses her hidden love for rock en espanol. "Escondido" will be revealed on television for the first time. The question is, can she rock? We'll soon find out.
Alexander Mejia - Guitarist
Alexander cultivates his on-stage presence as lead guitarist for Eddie C. Campbell. This self-taught musician was naturally drawn to the blues, creating the framework for his classical training, and leading to a music scholarship, as well as offers to have his work entered into the National Music Library. He vividly expresses his passion and skill for the blues by exploring new sounds through guitar, bass, and piano. In addition, he has shared the stage with the likes of, Laurie Bell, Phil Guy, Buddy Guy, Willie Kent, Guy King, Walter Scott, Ron Holister, etc. and played at The Kingsten Mines, Buddy Guy's legend and other blues clubs around Chicago, as well as the Pennsylvania Pocono Blues Fest, the Kansas City Blues Fest, and the Chicago Blues Fest, etc.

Chicagoans turn to entertainment to chase away the Windy City blues as unemployment peaked at 9.6% in the United States this year, as bared by a recent study of the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Today event organizers in Chicago are working hard to keep up the spirits of Chicago's citizens.
Chris Devins, Executive Producer of Hot Wax Chicago TV, who has been involved in the entertainment business for twenty years says "It's only typical that when the economy is down, entertainment always tends to increase in demand and value." So, while the stock market looks to China for hope, event promoters in Chicago call upon a particular Filipina entertainer to dazzle the evening.
Many of you know the secret weapon as Guia Rivera.
Rivera will walk the red carpet at Divas Ball 2009 on Friday, September 25, 2009 at 7 p.m. Attendees will get a chance to dine with the chanteuse at Regency Banquet Hall on 5319 W. Rivera's rise to popularity comes simply from sharing with fans and friends what really goes on inside the music business.
Exactly two weeks ago, record producer Vince Lawrence invited Guia Rivera to visit R & B legend R. Kelly's mansion. She decided to ring her girlfriends Vanessa Hill and Darleen Deocariza to accompany her to R. Kelly's party. The Japanese lantern fixtures lining R. Kelly's driveway subtly reveal the King of R & B's affinity for culture. Upon Rivera's arrival to the Tiki-lit barbecue a la R. Kelly, Vince Lawrence greeted her and im-mediately introduced Guia Rivera to R. Kelly himself.
"It's simply a dream," Rivera remarks. "I kept asking myself, am I really here with my girls in R. Kelly's living room? Then I got more comfortable at the R. Kelly party. Mister Kelly was a gracious host to all his guests."

I just wanted to let you know that I’ve let the entire crew onboard the USS Rentz hear two of your songs today (everyday we have a 30-minute cleaning stations and music is piped all over the ship), I got to choose the songs today (well my division gets to pick all week, and since I’m the boss I went first) and since it being Hispanic Heritage Month I made a 30 minute Latin music playlist and put Te Verde and Cameleon on it. I got asked by some people about Te Verde (who is that? Do you have her CD, etc, etc), so it’s a definite hit. I gave one of the guys who works for me all your stuff from my iTunes, he was deeply interested, he’s a guy who is a big appreciator of music. So I’m hoping to develop some more Guia fans here on the high seas. Once again thanks for giving me Te Verde and much success to you.
