A rape occurs every two minutes in the United States. According to statistics, 11.9% of Latinas have reported rape in their lifetime, 2.2% more than Caucasians. Unfortunately, culture and society often forces the rape and sexual assault victims to remain silent.
What's most shocking is that 80% of rapes are committed by someone the woman knows, and it is projected that approximately 7.9% of those will be Latinas.
