THOSE GIRLS IN MY MAIN PIC ARE MY 2 BEAUTIFUL YOUNGER SISTERS! Don't get it twisted, I'm a 1 woman man strictly...

SMy name is Carlos. I took my mothers last name to honor her because I feel that she is the strongest person that I have ever encountered. She managed to raise 4 kids basically by herself and I believe that she has done a superb job. Another reason was to spite my father when I first did, but now I can only feel sorry for him because he will never know that his son lived his life as right and honorable as he could. I was raised in New York and New Jersey for most of my life, living with my mother most of my life in Jersey while also living with my father when I was thrown out of my house when I was young. When my father kicked me out of his house because I fought back against his abusiveness, I stayed in various places, to include a gym room in an apartment complex, an indoor parking lot, a locker room at a high school and an abandoned train freight car in the cold month of January. There were days that I didn't eat, and other days I had to take from grocery stores in order to not starve. Quite a few days were spent begging in front of train stations so I can get back to the freight car. I would wash my clothes in the school washing machines. Once my family in Jersey found out, they decided to take me back and have been an integral part of my life since then.

At the age of 18 I decided that the Army was my calling have not looked back since. I have been all around the world, mostly in Germany, France and Spain. There were many friends there were made and some still remain a part of my life. When I came back from Europe, I went into the National Guard and deployed to Iraq in 2004-2004. The military has always been something that I loved doing. Being with the men and women in the Army carries bonds that no other can truly understand without experiencing firsthand.

I have given my heart and soul to a select few in my life, and even though things didn't quite work out, I'm still optimistic that there IS someone out there for everyone, including myself. For the time being I'll just keep trying and giving those who deserve a chance one.

I just want to take this time to HONOR 2 Soldiers that gave the ultimate sacrifice on OCT 2, 2009 in the Wardak Province of Afghanistan: SGT Aaron M. Smith and PFC Brandon A. Owens. Aaron, although he was unconventional to say the least was always willing to help out a friend. He was taken from us far far too soon. Aaron, know that you will never be forgotten. PFC Owens, even though i do not know much about him, he will be in my prayers as well. Rest easy Brothers in arms, you can finally stand down...
