"Tell Me Something About Yourself..." It's always easier when you ask what you would like to know and take it from there. A little about myself...I'm a strong woman of mixed background (Mexican American & African American...a combination that seems to shock many). I'm a southern girl, sometimes quiet (the quiet ones always know what's going on because they take the time to observe their surroundings rather than disrupt). For those that keep asking, I don't log on here and stay for long. I usually log on because I got an email alerting me that notes are available. I also "thank" the people that view my page. Yes, I use the "1-click" method because to be honest, when I am trying to thank a lot of people in one sitting I don't have time to go to each individuals page and read it so that I can send an individualized note. Besides, if you viewed but didn't speak what makes you feel entitled to a "real" note? lol. Nothing personal, but I treat notes on here like I treat comments on MySpace...if I have nothing of major importance to say, then I don't say more than I need to. Hence the "Thank you" note. If you want deeper conversation then reach out to me since you came across me first. I don't bite.
I've been told I look like I'm a sweetheart, but I know the truth....I'm a complicated combination that includes (but is not limited to) being a sweet-heart, a %#&@$! (or having %#&@$!-like qualities when necessary), caring, indifferent, confident, insecure, loving, forgiving, vindictive (in extreme cases), quiet, talkative, independent, needy, spontaneous, cautious, sarcastic, passionate, etc. I speak my mind. I rarely bite my tongue. I'm comfortable in my own skin. I keep my friends (the real flesh and blood kind, not the MySpace-type that are always in search of upping their numbers) close. I don't sweat the small stuff because my time and energy are far to valuable. I'm that girl you can always come talk to when in need, but I'm not as likely to lay my burdens on your shoulders (no matter how much you tell me to). I don't share (call it an "only-child" trait), but I make sure those that I care about have their own. I'm a southern girl so by nature I show my manners by saying "Thank you", "Ma'am/Sir", "Excuse me", "I'm sorry", etc.
How do I put this kindly...MySpace (or any other online community) whoring is pathetic! Don't get me wrong...it's a great place to keep in touch with old friends, make new (semi-sane) ones, network (even for you wanna-be porn freaks...get your nude on!), and all that good stuff. But when the internet becomes your sole means for getting %#&@$! (by using pics you took 10 years ago or jacking pics from someone you wish you looked like) then well...I will (and do) laugh my %#&@$! off at you...just so you know! 
I don't spend all day searching for snazzy (you like that don't ya???) little flashy graphics to post on your page declaring my undying e-friendship to you...or reminding you what day of the week it is (this is for you fans of the wonderful "hump-day" pics). I'm terrible with emailing you "just because". I'm worse at calling you "just because". IF you knew me in the real, none keyboard required world you would know that I get at you when I get at you...and if I don't you can always get at me...and if I don't answer you can leave a voice message or text me....and eventually I will listen to said voice message and will probably (ok...I'll maybe on a good day) return the call. And those that know me and love me (because, of course, I am so damn lovable it should be criminal) know that it's nothing personal. Well...most of the time it's nothing personal...but on those occasions when it IS personal, you will know that it is and why. I'm more interested in real and meaningful conversation. Yes, I have my numerous silly moments...I can be random in my thoughts and actions...at the right time and under the right circumstances. If anything I mentioned above hits a little too close to home for your liking don't take it to heart. If searching for those little graphics and commenting your day away puts a smile on your face then by all means...click away! |
