A Mothers Day Fable

Posted

I want to tell you a story of an angel that lived in Heaven. It was finally his turn to be born into a human baby. On the eve of his birthday, this angel had a conversation with God which I imagine went like this :

Angel : Dear Lord, You say that You are going to send me down to Earth tomorrow, but how will I survive, let alone live?? How will I be able to defend myself in such a tiny, helpless body??

God: You know there are many many different types of angels. Many of whom play different roles, but I have chosen one specific guardian angel who is waiting eagerly...desperately to care for you.

A: Please explain to me Lord, here in Heaven all I do is sing and play and laugh. How will I find hapiness on Earth?

G: Your guardian angel will sing to you, and smile with you for all of your days. You will feel this angel's love and warmth. This will make you infinitely more happy.

A: How will I ever understand what humans will say to me, especially since I do not understand their language??

G: Your guardian angel will whisper to you the sweetest and most tender words that you will ever hear. Your guardian angel will teach you these words with great patience and love so that you will learn to understand them.

A: But Lord, what will I do when I want to speak directly to you instead?

G: Your Guardian angel will clasp your little hands together and teach you to pray so that you may talk to me directly.

A: I was told that on Earth there are many many wicked men. Who will defend me from these evildoers?

G: Your guardian angel will defend you, even if it costs her, her own life.

A: But I was told that once I am born I will lose my sense of Angelic being, so won't I be sad because I will not be able to see you again, my Lord?

G: Your guardian angel will speak of me always. She will show you the correct path to get back to me. Though you may feel like I am not there, I will always be by your side.

At that moment this angel felt a sudden calm wash over him and the sounds of Earth were starting to enter his senses. Before losing his Angelic sense of being he quickly had one last question for God...

A: Lord...Lord... What is my angel's name?? How will I know what to call my guardian angel?

G: You do not need to know her name. Her name does not matter. You will call her......Mom.

The End.
