Floris Dreesman: Creator of Audi City
Today we sat down with Floris Dreesman, the Head of the Audi Terminal Competence Centre. His title might be confusing, but basically Floris has one of the coolest jobs possible, focusing on development concepts for marketing. This goes way beyond just thinking of ways to sell cars, and is more about envisioning the future of technology, mobility and the direction of the brand for Audi.
Floris used to have an architectural office, so he works with the imagination of a conceptual thinker rooted in the pragmatism of making things in the real world. He left architecture because he was disillusioned with how making buildings in the traditional sense was limited in its vision of the future. His passion now is about the bridging of the real space with the virtual space. "We can find ways to connect the real world with the virtual world in order to make a new world," Floris says, "But we are just beginning to take the first steps."
